A line-up of celebrities and ex-Welling FC players will take to the pitch at Park View Road on May 19 to raise much-needed funds for local mental health charity, Mind in Bexley.
HÖRFA immediately offered a £100 gift voucher as a fantastic prize for the after-party auction to help raise money and awareness for the worthwhile charity.
The event will see a Welling XI, featuring past players of the football club, versus a Celebrity XI, made up of famous faces from the area.
Some former Wings favourites will make a return to the famous Park View Road turf, with the likes of John Farley, Paul Booth, Lew Watts, Mike Rutherford, Steve Robinson and Joe Healy all scheduled to play.
Amongst those turning out for the Celebrity XI will be former British champion Matt Marsh, TOWIE’s Dan Osborne, Eastenders’ Tony Clay, Ackley Bridge actor Jake Hayward, AFC Wimbledon striker Jon Main, Harry Southern from The Circle, Eastenders actor Tony Discipline and ex-Man City star Kevin Horlock.
The event opens at midday on Sunday, May 19 with the kick off scheduled for 2pm. After the main event there will be an after-party held in the Wings Bar with music, a charity auction including signed Tony Bellew boxing gloves, Thierry Henry signed football boots, £100 HÖRFA gift voucher, plus many more fantastic prizes.
HÖRFA Marketing Manager, Tim Rickson, commented, “Having grown up in Welling, I know all about Mind in Bexley and the fantastic work they do, so I immediately offered the support of HÖRFA to this worthwhile cause and fantastic event.
“I have been to watch Welling FC play all my life and will look forward to seeing my friend Matt Marsh on the pitch.”
